Amelia was born and raised in Jackson and began her athletic career as a competitive figure skater. After skating for eleven years, she decided to pursue her true passion, skiing. She began with JHSC as a U16 in 2012. Over the next four years, her skills and understanding of ski racing quickly improved, despite three seasons ending in knee injuries. She raced FIS for six years—three years in Jackson and three years racing independently in New York.
