Alex Isley

Freeride Program Videographer & Snowboard Coach

I go by Alex or Isley and I really love snowboarding. I grew up in Indiana learning to snowboard on my own with not many friends to ride with because not many people were as interested in snowboarding as I was. Once I was old enough to drive, I would camp in my wonderful mother’s van in the parking lot at my local hill every weekend during the winter, which was 40 ft tall and an hour and a half away. I moved to Jackson 6 years ago and I have not taken these mountains for granted whatsoever. Progression in snowboarding is my truest passion and I am so grateful to share this wonderful passion with the kids.

Sport Specific Background, Experience, and Roles:

Last season was my first year of coaching. I previously worked for Teton Gravity Research for 2 years as an Audio Editor as well as a film logger. While there, my biggest role was on the Sammy Carlson Project. I also have years of camera and editing skills from many passion projects in skateboarding and snowboarding.

Education, Professional Degrees, and Certifications:

Graduated college from Ivy Tech Community College with 2 Associate Degrees in Kinesiology and Business.

Personal Philosophy or Statement:

I believe that snowboarding is one of the best things that anyone can do for their physical and mental health. I don’t view snowboarding as much of a sport. I look at snowboarding as art because everyone has their own style and I think that is what makes snowboarding so amazing.
