Chris Mayers

Chris Mayers was born and raised in the Tetons. He started racing on the JHCS Alpine team, which lead him to the Freeride program. From the age of twelve to eighteen he competed on the IFSA Freeride series. Throughout high school he stood on the podium numerous times including a 1st at Crested Butte. Chris was invited and skied at the International level twice in Revelstoke, BC and Snowbird, UT. Upon graduating highschool Chris is skiing on the Freeride World Qualifiers and is pushing to be on the Freeride World Tour.

Chris is also training to be a mountain guide. He is a Wilderness First Responder and has been on four NOLS courses including an expedition across the Wind River Range.

In 2019 he plans to climb Denali.

Personal Philosophy

I coach to pass on the soul of skiing to the youth. I aim to teach skills that will help athletes achieve maximum potential in the safest way. I coach by leading a balanced life so I can get the youth ready for a lifetime of skiing. I serve my athletes by teaching them strong mountain skills that will help them grow on and off the snow. The most important thing for me is teaching longevity and good decision-making in the mountains.
