JHSC Alpine Master's training program is open to all regional Master's and adult competitors, including Margarita Cuppers! The JHSC Masters training program is designed to offer high level alpine race training to adults whose passion for the sport still burns brightly. Masters athletes will generally train with PG athletes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and have a GS specific venue on Thursdays. Masters participants are encouraged to participate in the local adult race series (Margarita Cup) and/or travel to USSA Masters events. Travel will be up to the Masters athlete to coordinate.
The program is broken into two groups:
THURSDAY PROGRAM - A one day a week (Thursdays) group with a GS focus. Aimed at Margarita Cuppers this group will train Thursday mornings focusing on fundamental technique and running courses that resemble the sets of Margarita Cups, and other non-sanctioned races.
FULL PROGRAM - A three day a week (Tues-Thurs) program aimed at our local USSA Masters competitors which will focus on early season skill development, race preparation and competition. This program will include single-pole Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super G training and will train with our FIS group on weekday mornings. Daily program objectives will include skill progressions, free ski and gate drills, video analysis and timing when appropriate.
